Events at Church of the Redeemer

Bible Study:  Father Rich Frontjes will lead Bible Study on Monday, March 4, at 3:30 in the narthex.  The subject of the study will be:  Rest and Return:  The Life of Jesus as a Model for Lenten Practice.  All are welcome.

Ash Wednesday:  There will be a service in English at 9 A.M. and a service in Spanish at 6 P.M.  Ashes will be distributed at both services.  Father Rich will be available to distribute ashes individually to those who can't attend either service, from 10 to noon in the morning and from 3 to 5 in the afternoon.

Bishop Lee's Visit:  Jeffrey Lee, Bishop of Chicago, will visit Church of the Redeemer on Sunday, March 10, and will officiate at both the 9 o'clock (English) and noon (Spanish) services.  Because Bishop Lee has announced his retirement as of August, 2020, this will be his last episcopal visit to Church of the Redeemer.

Lenten Retreat:  A retreat for Lent will be held at Church of the Redeemer on Saturday, March 23.  It will begin with a light breakfast at 8:30 in the morning and will conclude at approximately 2:00 in the afternoon after a celebration of the Eucharist.  The theme of the retreat is how we hear God speaking to us.  All are welcome.

Morning Prayer:  Episcopal Church of the Redeemer offers Morning Prayer, from the Book of Common Prayer, every Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m..  Consider adding weekly morning prayer to your discipline of prayer.

Healing Ministry

Church of the Redeemer continues the healing ministry of Jesus in several ways.  One of these is offering prayer, laying on of hands, and anointing with oil to those seeking healing, after the distribution of communion at the 9:00 o'clock service on the first Sunday of every month.  Healing ministry is also offered at the Spanish-language service at 7:00 p.m. every Wednesday evening.
